MountainCastle Speed Paint

This started out as a speed paint, and then I messed around with it for hours and nothing improved. So I went back to the old file, which is this. I need to learn to just drop a thing when it’s not working. It was more or less fine at a few hours, and then I expended a bunch of time for nothing. I guess it’s not really wasted time, because I learned some things, but, uhg. Time to move on. I like the water, at least.

Crypt Keeper

Another work in progress. 14″ x 11″ on heavyweight vellum paper.

Based on a nightmare I had. She was kneeling in a doorway of a flooded concrete crypt with the bones of those laid to rest there floating beyond her. I think there were stairs to either side of the doorway? I can’t remember now.

Got a bit smudged and needs a little more work before I’ll be happy. Then I just have to figure out how to mail it. It’s 14″ x 11″ on “natural white” heavyweight vellum paper. It has a really nice texture.

This is a miniature version of a 2’x3′ pencil and ink drawing I did years ago. Then I used the idea as I was trying to learn the program Paint Tool SAI. You can see my efforts in my first bunch of posts on this site. Vellum paper texture below:vellumtexturesidekiaz2
